T he nose is considered to be the focal point of the face. If you are unhappy with your nose – whether it is too large, crooked, or has unsightly bumps and a poor contour – it will be the one thing that you, and others, will focus on.
During a rhinoplasty, nose plastic surgery (or “nose job”), Dr. Hall will reshape the tissues of your nose to give you the nose that best fits your face. At your consultation for Rhinoplasty Knoxville plastic surgeon, Dr. Hall will examine your nose both inside and out, and will work with you to come up with a treatment plan to correct the parts of your nose you don’t like, as well as correcting any problems with the airway that may be making it difficult to breathe through one side of your nose. Sometimes, to help balance the face and create a more pleasing facial profile, Dr. Hall will recommend that a genioplasty (or chin advancement) or chin implant be performed at the same time. Now using state-of-the-art 3D imaging technology, Dr. Hall can simulate the results of surgery during your consultation – this can help you make sure that the procedure you decide on gives you the cosmetic result you are looking for.
O ne of the decisions that tends to cause a great deal of anxiety when choosing to have a rhinoplasty is: “What am I going to look like with a different nose?”
Now, with state-of-the-art computer imaging, Dr. Hall does all of his rhinoplasty consultations using the Vectra 3D imaging system. After your examination and a detailed analysis of your nose and face, Dr. Hall will simulate the surgery that will give you the most natural look in 3 dimensions. Any other changes to help balance your face (such as chin surgery, which is frequently performed with a rhinoplasty to help balance facial aesthetics) can be done at the same time, so that both you and Knoxville plastic surgeon, Dr. Hall decide at your initial consultation what procedures are the best choices for you.
A rhinoplasty is performed in an outpatient surgery center, and is done under anesthesia. Rhinoplasty surgery typically takes 2-3 hours. You will go home later that day with soft material inside the nose to hold the tissue in place, as well as a plastic splint or guard on the outside of your nose.

Over the course of the first week after surgery, swelling of the nose is noticeable.
A small amount of bruising can occur, but goes away after approximately a week. If an open approach was used, the sutures in the small, hidden incisions are removed a week after surgery. This is when the protective splint is removed, as well. After a week, most people can return to work – your nose will look good (although still slightly swollen), and will continue to improve over the course of time.
