Woman's face after rhinoplasty

Obviously, your nose isn't just for looks. One very common issue that our patients call us about is nasal breathing problems. If you're having trouble breathing through one or both sides of your nose, it can be a health concern. Exercise, playing sports, and even daily life can be impacted by nasal breathing restrictions.

Give us a call at (865) 973-9500 to talk with Dr. Hall about any nasal breathing problems you're having. During rhinoplasty surgery, Knoxville plastic surgeon Dr. Hall can not only give you the nose of your dreams, but he can also correct any nasal breathing problems you're having.

Problems Corrected by Rhinoplasty Surgery

During your consultation with Dr. Hall, he will conduct a thorough examination of both the outside and inside of your nose looking for any blockages that might be keeping you from being able to breathe in smoothly.

From there, he can recommend a treatment plan that will address any cosmetic changes you'd like made to your nose along with any breathing problems during the rhinoplasty surgery. Patients also love using our cutting edge imaging software where Dr. Hall will show you a 3D model of exactly what your nose will look like after the surgery.

Here are just a couple of the most common breathing restrictions that we see with our rhinoplasty patients.

  • Internal nasal valve - As air travels through your nose, the internal nasal valve is one of the tightest areas it has to squeeze through. If Dr. Hall discovers that this is where the air restriction is, he can use invisible grafts to open the airway and allow the air to pass through more easily.
  • Deviated septum - Your nasal septum is the thin piece of cartilage that separates your nasal passages. If your septum is crooked, it can restrict the flow of air and even cause you pain or nose bleeds. One of the best ways to correct a deviated septum is through rhinoplasty surgery. Patients with a deviated septum can get relief from their breathing issues with this kind of surgery and Dr. Hall can also straighten out your nose during the process as well.

Rhinoplasty Surgery Recovery Time

Another common question that we get is about the recovery time for rhinoplasty surgery. Residents usually take a week or two off of work after the procedure to give themselves time to heal.

During the first week after the procedure, patients will experience some swelling and bruising. However, after a week the swelling will begin to subside, the concealed sutures can be removed and most patients can return to work. Your nose will continue to improve after that.

Here at Dr. Hall's practice, we take our relationships with our Knoxville Rhinoplasty patients incredibly seriously. If you're unhappy with how your nose looks or if you're having trouble breathing through your nose, please don't hesitate to contact us today about rhinoplasty surgery at (865) 973-9500. Native and plastic surgery veteran, Dr. Hall, is dedicated to changing our patients' lives. It would be a true honor if we can restore your confidence and help you breathe normally through your nose.
