Breast Liftin Knoxville

A breast lift, or Mastopexy, raises the breasts by removing the stretched or excess tissue and contouring the breast into a lifted and youthful position. The size of the areola and orientation of the nipple are also addressed during the breast lift procedure.

As women age, gravity, pregnancy and childbirth, weight loss, genetic factors and a host of other reasons cause their breasts to lose their youthful, full appearance. Sagging, droopy breasts can make you feel much older and less attractive. Breast lift surgery can restore the appearance of your breasts by repositioning them higher on your chest and adding the fullness that has been lost with time. Sometimes, a breast lift is combined with a small breast augmentation for an even better rejuvenation of your figure.

Am I A Candidate For Breast Lift Surgery?

You may be a candidate for a breast lift procedure if you are healthy, don’t smoke, and:

  • Your breasts sag or have lost their youthful volume
  • Your breasts are flat, elongated, or hanging
  • Your nipples and areola point downward or are stretched out
  • You have maintained a stable weight for at least 6 months
  • Your areola or nipple is below the crease under your breast
  • Your breasts are oddly shaped or of different sizes

Breast Lift Procedure

A breast lift is done in an outpatient surgery center while you are asleep. A typical surgery lasts 1-2 hours, and you will go home later that day. Dr. Hall will discuss with you how the incisions will be made before surgery to minimize their visibility.

There are typically no drainage tubes or other complicated dressings for you to worry about. Occasionally, Dr. Hall will recommend a breast implant or the addition of your own body fat (“fat grafting”) to enhance the upper part of your breast, which tends to “deflate” over time.

We require that any patient interested in receiving a procedure from renowned Knoxville breast lift surgeon, Dr. Jason J. Hall, have an initial consultation prior to the surgery.

Types of Breast Lifts

D r. Hall will recommend the best type of breast lift for you, based on factors like the amount of skin to be removed, how much breast tissue is available, and the look you want to achieve.

Crescent lift

This technique is suitable for women with small breasts, or very little sagging. The name is derived from the act of making a small incision halfway around the top edge of the areola. In most cases, a crescent lift is used if the breast list is accompanied by breast augmentation.

Periareolar “Donut” Breast Lift

For women with mild sagging, a periareolar incision is most effective. A circular incision is made at the edge of the areola and can help in reducing its size. The scar is very difficult to see, as it corresponds to the edge of the areola.

Vertical “Lollipop” Breast Lift

For moderate sagging, this type of lift makes it possible to remove any excess skin and give the breasts a new shape without leaving noticeable scars. One incision is made around the areola and another incision from the bottom of the areola to the fold beneath your breast.

Wise Pattern “Anchor” or “Teddy Bear” Breast Lift

For more extensive sagging, an inverted T lift facilitates removing significant amounts of excess skin and loose tissue. Three incisions are made, one around the areola, another vertically from the bottom of the areola to the fold under your breast, and one along the fold. This incision is best for more extensive lifts.

How Much Does a Breast Lift Cost?
