For our patients that suffer from uneven and asymmetrical eyes, it can sometimes feel like you’re the only one in the world that is dealing with it. But the truth is that facial asymmetry is incredibly common. There are a huge range of factors that can influence how our appearance develops which is why asymmetry is incredibly common. So what are the options for our patients that feel as though their asymmetrical eyes are negatively impacting their life? One solution that many patients ask us about is eyelid surgery. Knoxville patients that suffer from drooping eyelids or sagging bags under the eyes can get incredible results from eyelid surgery, also called a blepharoplasty. But can eyelid surgery repair asymmetrical eyes? In this blog post, we’ll look at the blepharoplasty procedure and discuss what issues it can resolve. If you’re curious about eyelid surgery and are wondering if you’re a candidate, give us a call today at 865.973.9500.
Now, when you call us, you’ll get to talk with one of our experienced and highly-trained staff. We always love hearing from our new patients in Knoxville, and we’re happy to answer your questions or talk with you about your concerns. From there, the next step is to schedule an appointment with Dr. Hall for your preliminary consultation. During this first meeting, you’ll get to talk with Dr. Hall about your goals for the procedure, ask him all of your questions, and he may perform an examination as well. Dr. Hall will use the information from that first meeting to develop your customized treatment plan that will guide him through the procedure and ensure you get the best possible results. What Causes Asymmetrical Eyes?
One of the most incredible (and sometimes frustrating) things about the human body is that we are all different in so many ways. It’s virtually impossible for us to say what caused your unique asymmetry without Dr. Hall performing an in-depth examination. However, some of the most common causes of asymmetry are due to the orbital bones, the eyelids, and the eyebrows. If the asymmetry is caused by the orbital bones, it may not be possible to correct without some kind of significant, major surgery that may or may not be warranted. However, sometimes, the solution may be able to be fixed with an injectable filler, such as Juvederm.
We also want to mention that it is very rare for a medical condition or disease to cause uneven eyes to the point where they need to be corrected by eyelid surgery. Knoxville patients with eyes that are noticeably different from each other still have options to correct them.
Correcting Uneven Eyes with Eyelid Surgery
Knoxville patients can get beautiful and natural-looking results from eyelid surgery to correct their asymmetrical eyes. If the asymmetry is caused by one of the eyelids or the eyebrows, then Dr. Hall can address that during the procedure to ensure that both of the eyes are even. Plus, in some cases, Dr. Hall can address larger asymmetry issues by “hiding” them using his meticulous precision during the eyelid surgery.
Knoxville patients that want to work with one of the leading surgeons in the state should call Dr. Hall today to set up their consultation. Dr. Hall is quickly becoming one of the most high-demand doctors because of his dedication to efficiency and his gentle, compassionate approach.
