Crow's Feet Treatment Knoxville

Y our eyes are one of the most prominent features of your face. They’re one of the first things that people notice about you, and an aspect of your face that people focus on.

Unfortunately as you age, you begin to develop fine lines and wrinkles that radiate out from the corners of their eyes – Crow’s feet. These lines can be an embarrassing sign of aging, one that no amount of anti-aging creams can smooth away, or makeup can cover.

If you’re a man or woman with Crow’s feet, you may feel as though your entire face looks aged because of the wrinkles coming from the corners of your eyes. But, these fine lines and telltale signs of aging don’t have to be permanent. Dr. Hall, a board certified plastic surgeon, is skilled in using both Botox and brow lift surgery to smooth away Crow’s feet from his patients. Read on to discover how one of these two procedures may help you get the smooth facial appearance around your eyes that you are looking for.

Treating Crow’s Feet With Botox Injections

Botox is a neurotoxin that is used as an injectable cosmetic treatment option. It temporarily paralyzes fine lines and wrinkles in the face, causing the unwanted signs of aging, like Crow’s feet, to fade away.

How Does Botox Work?

Botox works by blocking nerve pulses, and thus relaxing nerve muscles. As a result, the muscles that attach to the skin relax, thus smoothing out the associated fine lines and wrinkles. Because of this effect, Botox can be a great, albeit temporary, treatment for unwanted Crow’s feet.

How Long Does Botox Treatment Last?

When patients get Botox injections for Crow’s feet from Dr. Hall, they’ll begin to notice a difference around their eyes about 7 to 10 days after their treatment. The line smoothing effects of Botox typically last about 3 to 4 months, depending on the patient and the severity of his or her Crow’s feet.

While Botox is only a temporary solution for Crow’s feet, it can be a good treatment option for Knoxville crows feet treatment patients who are not yet ready to undergo surgery for the treatment of their fine lines and wrinkles, or who otherwise aren’t surgical candidates.

Treating Crow’s Feet With A Brow Lift

P atients who are looking for a longer-lasting treatment option for their Crow’s feet may turn to a plastic surgery procedure called a brow lift. This surgical procedure is ideal for men and women who have deep Crow’s feet, especially those who have tried Botox but have found that the injectable just doesn’t smooth away the lines as much as they would like.

A brow lift is a plastic surgery procedure that involves raising the skin and muscles of the forehead. This surgical procedure elevates the eyebrows to a more youthful position, permanently fixing that “tired” look on your face. As a result of a brow lift, your unattractive Crow’s feet will be smoothed away and your eyes will have a more alert and youthful appearance.

Brow Lift Surgery And Recovery

T o have your Crow’s feet permanently removed, Dr. Hall will perform your brow lift surgery at an outpatient procedure. For your comfort, you will be placed under general anesthesia, although some patients can have a brow lift performed in the office under local anesthesia.

While the duration of the surgery will vary depending on your unique case, brow lift surgery to treat Crow’s feet is an outpatient procedure and you will go home the same day of your surgery. After your brow lift surgery, you will have stitches in place for about 5 days (typically hidden in your hairline).

You will also experience swelling of your brows and eyelids. Because of this, Dr. Hall recommends you take a week off of work for rest and relaxation. After your stitches are removed and your swelling subsides, you will be able to see your new, wrinkle-free face!
